12.1   First Conditional
Form

If + Present Simple  ,   will + infinitive

If it rains, I'll take an umbrella.She'll pass the exam if she studies.
Use

Real or likely situations in the present or future.

📌 Note
The if-clause can come first or second. Use a comma when the if-clause comes first.
12.2   might

might + infinitive — possibility (less certain than will)

I might go to the party. (= maybe, I'm not sure)Take an umbrella — it might rain.

12.3   Second Conditional
Form

If + Past Simple  ,   would + infinitive

If I had more time, I'd travel the world.She would feel better if she got more sleep.
Use

Imaginary, hypothetical or unlikely situations in the present or future.

📌 Note
Use were (not was) in formal English after if: If I were you, I'd apologise.
First Conditional
If it rains, I'll stay in. (possible)
Second Conditional
If I were a millionaire, I'd buy a yacht. (imaginary)
